Holiday Inn Norwich City, An Ihg Hotel

We Arrived at the hotel late in the evening. The staff were really welcoming and helpful we hadn't eaten and they were still serving in the restaurant we had three scampi and chips and drinks that came to just over £60 the meal was ok but we felt it was a little pricey. We also noted that the furniture was a little tatty and all the seats were split. The rooms we stayed in were ok although the units that were installed in the rooms looked like they had seen better days and the room I stayed in was at the end of a corridor and a door in the corridor kept banging throughout the night which kept me awake. The bathroom was clean and tidy with plenty of towels. We did ask for a wake up call at 08:00 but didn't get one until 08:32 unsure what happened there. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room so you have to pay extra but it is a good breakfast and you can go back as often as you like. As I said we couldn't fault the staff they were all helpful and polite. For the price of staying here I would have thought the furniture would have been better looked after or replaced when damage appears. The prices of drinks and food are a little steep so be mindful of the prices when ordering. Parking is not free you have to pay to park your car outside the hotel.

Very pleasant three days in this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and our room was very clean. My only real concern was the decoration of the bar and restaurant, which I thought was rather dark being dark red and purple. The outside of the hotel looked lovely but I thought the interior was in need of an update .
